Mike Filsaime is a great guy and we respect him both personally and professionally.

However, whatever tools he is using to build up his twitter channel are not doing him justice.  He hasn’t been using Twitter Guru Elite so he did not have the same advantages as our customers do.

A couple months back, we used our spy tool on his account, and our system picked up that he had over 10,000 spammy or junk followers on his account, most of which he was following back.

Recently Twitter did a huge purge of known spammer accounts.   Mike lost about 25% of his userbase in one foul swoop (the majority of these are the same accounts we noticed months ago using our spy tool):
